RESOLUTION NO. 25-005
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VICTORVILLE
ACCEPTING THE CALIF ORNIA STATE LIBRARY ZIP BOOK GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $12,198; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ALL GRANT DOCUMENTS AND ADMINISTER THE OVERALL PROJECT;
AND A UTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO MAKE ANY
AMENDMENTS TO THE AGREEMENT AS DEEMED NECESSARY
WHEREAS, the City of Victorville 2023- 2026 Strategic Plan, Goal F provides for the exploration of opportunities to add or modify community events and activities; and WHEREAS, the California State Library has awarded the City $12,198 to support the Zip Book Project; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into the Grant Agreement with the California State Library for the implementation of the Zip Book Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VICTORVILLE DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals
The recitals set forth above are true and correct, and are hereby incorporated by this reference.
Section 2. Contract Agreement
The City Council hereby authorizes the execution of the contract between the City and the California State Library to accept and use the Zip Book Project funding to administer the Zip Book Project at the Victorville City Library.
Section 3. City Manager Authority
The City Council hereby delegates to the City Manager or his designee the role of Signature Authority on behalf of the City to execute all grant documents necessary to secure the Zip Book Project grant funds and administer the approved program, including the execution of agreements necessary to administer the approved grant project and budgeted items provided no contracts exceed the City Manager Contract Author ity provided by Section 2.28.060 of the Victorville Municipal Code.
Section 4. Effective Date
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
