Notice of Completion – Brentwood Park Shade Structures, Purchase and Installation, Project ESC24-094
Recommendation:
That the Honorable City Council accept as complete and approve the Notice of Completion for the Brentwood Park Shade Structures, Purchase and Installation, Project ESC24-094 and authorize the City Manager to execute the Notice of Completion.
Fiscal Impact:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item. Retention in the amount of five percent was withheld from each payment application during the course of construction as per the construction agreement. The retention of $7,580.18 will be released after City Council approval and the recording of the Notice of Completion. The retention account numbers, account descriptions and amounts withheld are shown in the table below.

Strategic Plan Goal:
The City of Victorville Strategic Plan 2023-2026 identifies multi-year strategic goals and various strategies to work toward achieving those goals. The Brentwood Park Shade Structures, Purchase and Installation, Project ESC24-094 assists in achieving the following: Goal E, Invest in Infrastructure, create a healthy and livable community by maintaining the city’s assets through investment in infrastructure and innovations; Strategy 7, implement priority projects identified in the Parks and Recreation Master Plan. 3 9

Background:
On May 7, 2024, the City Council unanimously awarded a construction agreement to Shade Structures, Inc. DBA USA Shade & Fabric Structures in the amount of $151,603.54 for the Brentwood Park Shade Structures, Purchase and Installation, Project ESC24-094.
There were no change orders executed during the course of construction.
Discussion:
The Brentwood Park Shade Structures, Purchase and Installation, Project ESC24-094 was completed on December 9, 2024, within the contract expiration date and to the satisfaction of staff. Therefore, staff is requesting the approval and filing of the Notice of Completion for this project (Attachment B).
