Discussion and possible action that would require Council Members, should they be scheduled for an event that costs the City money and fail to attend, that they have to reimburse the City for those expenses

Background:
At the City Council meeting of March 18, 2025, it was moved by Mayor Becerra, with majority approval, to agendize an item for discussion and possible action that would require Council Members, should they be scheduled for an event that costs the City money and fail to attend, that they have to reimburse the City for those expenses.
Discussion:
This item is being presented to Council so that Council can further discuss whether it would like to require Council Members, should they be scheduled for an event that costs the City money and fail to attend, that they have to reimburse the City for those expenses.
If Council so desires, staff can return with an update to Council Policy CP-24-07 – City Council Spending and Expense Reimbursement Policy.
