Discussion and possible action to allow the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tem to appoint an alternate Council Member to go to Washington D.C. on their behalf if they are unable to attend
Recommendation:
Any action is at the discretion of Your Honorable City Council.
Fiscal Impact:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item at this time, however, if approved, the costs associated with this item would be for flights, hotel accommodations, and meals.
Those funds are budgeted in City Council Travel and Meetings 1001220 52150.
Background:
At the City Council meeting of June 3, 2025, it was moved by Mayor Pro Tem Harriman, with majority approval, to agendize an item for discussion and possible action to allow the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tem to appoint an alternate Council Member to go to Washington D.C. on their behalf if they are unable to attend.
Discussion:
This item is being presented to Council so that Council can further discuss whether to allow the Mayor or Mayor Pro Tem to appoint an alternate Council Member to go to Washington D.C. on their behalf if they are unable to attend.
