Macerich to date
The chart below reflects the distribution of Sales Tax to Macerich since the inception of the Sales Tax Agreement in 2013. There was a steady gain in activity from 2013 until 2016, followed by several years of decline, primarily due to a loss of sales to online retailers. The total amount paid through 2023 is $3,260,879.22. With the Council's approval for this pay ment, the total through 2024 would be $3,569,721.22 out of the maximum $18.89 million threshold, with 16 years remaining in this agreement.
