Discussion and possible action to present a plaque to Ray Wolfe, outgoing Executive Director for the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority Recommendation:
Any action is at the discretion of Your Honorable City Council.
Fiscal Impact:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item at this time, however, if approved, the costs associated with this item would be approximately $145.00. Funding is budgeted in City Council Supplies 1001220 52110.
Background:
On July 2, 2025, Council Member Jones verbally requested a plaque to be presented to the outgoing Executive Director of the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority, Mr. Ray Wolfe as his last day with the County would be July 11, 2025. The City Council Policy and Procedure Manual, Chapter 8, Section V, Subsection C,4 states the following:
4. Plaques
(a) Plaques shall be presented only to prominent business and/or organizations that have made a significant contribution to the City of Victorville and its residents.
(b) Plaques may also be prepared for presentation to certain individuals who have acted with distinction in carrying out their duties or who have taken extraordinary actions that further the best interest of the City of Victorville residents.

(c) The presentation of plaques will only be made in the City of Victorville and where the business/organization/individual can be formally acknowledged.
Additionally, pursuant to the City Council Policy and Procedure Manual Chapter 8, Section V, Subsection D, 6, the City Clerk reached out to the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem to seek approval for this ceremonial recognition item. Because consensus was not met, the above noted Section states, “All requests shall be approved or denied by the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem. To the extent the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem are not in agreement then the request will be placed on the next available City Council Agenda for consideration by the City Council. The City Council reserves the right to modify or deny any request.” Therefore, staff is bringing forward this item for consideration by the Council.
Discussion:
This item is being presented to Council so that Council can further consider the request for a plaque for outgoing Executive Director of the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority, Mr. Ray Wolfe.
