During the fourth quarter of FY
2024/25, Animal Services completed
2,189 field inspections as part of
ongoing efforts to ensure compliance
with local animal-related ordinances.

As a result of these inspections, 109

Administrative Hearings promoting responsible pet ownership The Animal Services Division is committed to a fair and open and safeguarding public health and process. When an animal is seized due to being potentially safety. vicious or dangerous, the Animal Services Division provides the animal owner with an opportunity to express their
position to reclaim their pet. The hearing is conducted before an independent administrative hearing officer where animal containment measures are placed to ensure public safety and to reunite the pet with its owner.

In Q4 of FY 2024/25, Potentially Vicious/Dangerous Animal hearings were held for nine (9) dogs to assess potential public safety risks. Of these, three (3) dogs were found to be either potentially dangerous or vicious.

FY 24/25 LICENSES AND RENEWALS MICROCHIPPING
Monthly licensing events at the new Animal Care and
Adoption Center continue to support responsible pet
ownership in the community. In Q4, 681 dogs were
licensed and 338 renewals were issued.

Licensing benefits:
• Helps reunite lost pets with their owners.
• Eases shelter capacity by reducing intake.
• Free pick-up of deceased licensed pets to assist
grieving pet owners.

Microchipping plays a key role in reducing
shelter intake and is a simple but effective tool
that supports long-term positive outcomes for
both pets and their owners.

In Q4 of FY 24/25, Animal Services microchipped
321 pets through licensing events, return-to-
owner efforts, and licensing renewals.

ANIMAL CARE AND ADOPTION CENTER UPDATES

PET VACCINATION AND LICENSE CLINIC
On June 21, the Animal Care & Adoption Center hosted a successful evening Pet Vaccination and License Clinic, scheduled later in the day to help residents avoid the summer heat.

Hundreds of pet owners attended, with services running from 3:00 p.m. to just before 9:00 p.m.

The event offered low-cost vaccinations, licensing, and microchipping, resulting in record numbers for a single-day clinic. Staff from Code Compliance, Animal Services, Development, and the Water Department worked together to provide excellent customer service throughout the event. Water stations were available to keep attendees hydrated, and the first 100 pet owners to license their animals received a free Kona Ice treat.

ANIMAL CARE AND ADOPTION SUCCESS STORIES

TONKA'S JOURNEY TO A FOREVER HOME
Tonka's story is one that truly warms the heart. After
spending 35 days at the Animal Care and Adoption
Center, this lovable and gentle soul was taken in by
one of our incredible rescue partners, I Stand With My
Pack. Within moments of being placed with a foster,
Tonka's sweet and affectionate personality shined
through - and it didn't take long before a family fell
in love and welcomed him into their forever home.

Tonka's journey is a shining example of the power of
collaboration, compassion, and commitment to giving
every animal the second chance they deserve. The
Animal Services team is proud to have played a role in TONKA connecting Tonka with a life full of love, comfort, and companionship.

GINGER'S FRESH START
Ginger's journey is a heartwarming reminder of the impact community events can have on our shelter animals.

After being in our care since November 14, 2024, Ginger - an affectionate and resilient pup - finally found her perfect match during our Concerts at the Park City event. Surrounded by music, families, and fun, Ginger caught the eye of a loving adopter who couldn't resist her sweet demeanor and wagging tail. After months of patiently waiting at the Animal Care and Adoption Center, Ginger is now enjoying life in a home filled with love and companionship. Our Animal Services team is thrilled to see Ginger's story come full circle and celebrates the power of outreach, dedication, and community support in finding forever homes.
