Discussion and possible action to consider a salary adjustment for the City Manager Recommendation:
Any action is at the discretion of Your Honorable City Council.
Fiscal Impact:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item at this time, however, if a salary adjustment is approved, the associated difference would come from current budgeted funds. Any additional funding needed to cover through the remainder of the fiscal year could then be brought back during the mid-year budget process.
Background:
At the City Council meeting of August 19, 2025, it was moved by Mayor Becerra, with unanimous approval, to agendize an item for discussion and possible action to consider a salary adjustment for the City Manager since the Council completed the City Manager annual performance evaluation. This item includes a proposed contract amendment pertaining to only a salary adjustment should the Council wish to change the salary. It would become effective retroactively as of September 1, 2025.
Discussion:
This item is being presented to Council so that Council can further discuss whether to provide for a salary adjustment for the City Manager and approve the Fourth Amendment to Employment Agreement between the City of Victorville and Keith C. Metzler that incorporates, a salary adjustment discussed during this agenda item.
