RESOLUTION NO. 25-081
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VICTORVILLE APPOINTING A MEMBER TO FILL THE OFFICE OF CITY
COUNCIL MEMBER DEBRA J ONES AS A RESULT OF HER
RESIGNATION
WHEREAS, Council Member Jones submitted her resignation from the City of Victorville City Council effective October 21, 2025; and
WHEREAS, at a Regular City Council meeting on November 4, 2025, the City Council selected the appointment process to fill the remainder of the vacant term ending December 2026 pursuant to Government Code Section 36512; and
WHEREAS, an ad hoc Committee was formed consisting of Mayor Becerra and Council Member XX to review qualified applicant submittals and make a recommendation to the City Council to fill the vacant City Council seat in District 2; and
WHEREAS, a majority vote of the City Council is required to carry forward any recommendation of the ad hoc Committee; and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VICTORVILLE DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Government Code Section 36512, ______________________ is appointed as a member of the City Council and shall serve for the unexpired term of former Council Member, Debra Jones.
SECTION 2. The person appointed shall take office effective at the Regular City Council meeting of December 2, 2025, and serve exactly as if elected at a municipal election for the office.
