CORRINE MORA
VICTORVILLE CITY COUNCIL – DISTRICT 2 APPLICANT
November 13, 2025
Honorable Victorville City Councilmembers:
I am Corrine Mora and I am excited to apply for the vacant District 2 Council seat. As a longtime resident of the High Desert, and current resident of District 2 in Victorville, I understand the unique challenges and opportunities of our community.
I have raised my children in this community and currently work as the Office Manager for the 23
rd Congressional District which serves Victorville. My current role keeps me active in our community as I attend community events, assist constituents with federal agencies, and volunteer in our community.
My desire to help people led me to seek a career in healthcare. After moving to the High Desert and having children, I became more politically engaged. When the opportunity to combine my passion for serving others with a career in government opened, I jumped at the opportunity. I truly enjoy my work helping others and representing the communities of the 23
rd Congressional District.
I believe collaboration and teamwork are necessary to obtain goals and be successful. I would be honored to be selected for the vacant District 2 City Council seat and to learn and work together to help our city achieve the mission of enhancing the lives of everyone who live and work here by providing high quality services.
Sincerely,
Corrine Mora

VICTORVILLE CITY COUNCIL – DISTRICT 2 APPLICANT

Questionnaire Responses
1. I applied for this appointment because I am passionate about serving my community, supporting public safety, and strengthening Victorville for families to live, work, and thrive. I believe my experience communicating with government agencies and resolving constituent issues makes me a strong candidate to serve our community effectively.
2. A Council Member’s primary role is to enact policy that City staff executes under the direction of the City Manager. Every Council Member should serve the needs of the constituents in the district they represent while also working to help chart a strong course for the City has a whole. As a Council Member representing District 2, I plan to represent and engage with my District 2 neighbors to identify their concerns and priorities and work with City staff and my Council colleagues to accomplish these priorities through sound policies. As a member of the Victorville City Council, it is important to work with the entire council to serve residents across Victorville – not just in any one district.
3. My vision for the community in the next year has several points that I believe align closely with Victorville’s Strategic Plan. First, I will always prioritize public safety, including utilizing the success of Measure P to continue to make investments in our Police and Fire Departments. Our City has always been a responsible fiscal steward and, if appointed, I look forward to continuing that tradition of making prudent financial decisions to create long-term success. Some of these financial decisions need to include continued investments in Victorville’s infrastructure to ensure it’s ready for future growth. Finally, I plan to utilize my experience working with local agencies to help fight for full County participation in Victorville’s CRIA, which is vital for the restoration of the Old Town area.
4. Over the last 5 -years, I believe the City’s greatest achievement is the Wellness Center Campus. The construction of a new facility to reduce homelessness and provide wraparound supportive services has supported the graduation of 201 adults from homelessness since the opening in December of 2023. Although the center has been open for two years, and broke ground in April of 2022, the
strategic planning started before then and required dedicated teamwork, development, and execution to bring this project to completion. Particularly impressive in this accomplishment is the low cost per bed and cost per door, which is far less than similarly sized projects in the region.
5. As a representative for an elected official , I have attended many community events where I have interacted with every member of the City Council in a professional capacity. I have worked with City staff and the Council to coordinate multiple meetings with Congressman Obernolte and have always looked for ways our office can support Victorville. Additionally, I have communicated with the City of Victorville’s Police Department and Fire Department for updates on public safety and support services. As an ambass ador for the Greater High Desert Chamber of Commerce , I have attended numerous ribbon cuttings and community events where City Council and staff have been present as well to congratulate new businesses that support economic growth in our community.
