Subject:

Reduction of the Faithful Performance Securities associated with a Single-Family Residential Home located at 12310 Beaver Avenue
Recommendation:

That the Honorable City Council:
(1) Approve the 80-percent release of the Water Faithful Performance Security; and (2) Accept the completed water public improvements.

Fiscal Impact:

There is no fiscal impact as a result of this action.

Strategic Plan Goal:

This item aligns with Goal E, Invest in Infrastructure, in the City of Victorville Strategic Plan 2023-2026. Although this is not a Capital Improvement Project, we apply the same strategy to private development projects as they are essential in meeting the community’s needs.

Background:

Case No. EWTR24-00456 involves a scattered single-family residential home located within the jurisdiction of San Bernardino County and the Victorville Water District service area. The developer, Crew Construction, was required to install a 616-linear foot water main extension on Marco Road to enable the Victorville Water District to provide water service. As part of this public improvement, the developer provided improvement bonds (Attachment C) as security for the required water infrastructure.

Discussion:

The developer has completed the Water Public Improvements for Case No. EWTR24- 00456. Therefore, staff recommends that the City Council approve an 80-percent reduction in the Faithful Performance Security in accordance with Victorville Municipal 4 5
0 8
Code (VMC) Section 17.64.070(1) and accept the completed Water Public Improvements.

The remaining 20-percent of the Faithful Performance Security will be held for the one- year warranty period as stipulated in VMC Section 17.64.070(4).

Staff is available for any questions Council may have.
