Southern California Logistics Airport Authority Activity Report Recommendation:
That the Southern California Logistics Airport Authority Board (“SCLAA”) review and file the attached Southern California Logistics Airport Activity Report.
Fiscal Impact:
There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.
Strategic Plan Goal:
This item aligns with Strategic Goal A, Financial Sustainability, and Goal C, Community and Economic Development. The SCLAA will continue to present this report on an annual basis to the SCLAA Board to report the progress being made at the Southern California Logistics Airport (“SCLA”).
Background:
From the SCLA’s humble beginnings in 1994, and following the economic crisis caused by the closure of the former George Air Force Base, the SCLA has emerged as a thriving industrial airport and business center. In 1988, Victorville City leaders first learned the Department of Defense planned to close the base taking with it 7,500 jobs and the buying power of many Air Force families who patronized local Victorville businesses. Thanks to ingenuity and hard work, the City of Victorville transformed the base into a thriving business center that is the area's largest employer offering approximately 4,100 jobs. The SCLA is now home to 80 businesses including Fortune 500 companies like Boeing and GE Aerospace. With on-airport and off-airport development, the SCLA serves manufacturing, warehousing, aviation, and aerospace companies in one location, and is driving our local and regional economy.

Discussion:
The SCLAA’s mission is to replace the 7,500 jobs that were lost with the former George Air Force closure and to operate a safe and self-sufficient airport, in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and redevelop the SCLA property while emphasizing customer service and professionalism. This annual activity report for calendar year 2025 provides a summary of the ongoing efforts and successes of the SCLAA.
