MESSAGE FROM THE FIRE CHIEF
1 J A N U A R Y - M A R C H 2 0 2 6
The Victorville Fire Department entered 2026 with a continued focus on operational excellence, personnel development, and strengthening service delivery to the community. During the months of January through March, the department made significant progress across several key areas, including fiscal planning, workforce development, training, and technological advancement. The department has finalized its budget with the executive team, ensuring alignment with the City’s strategic priorities while maintaining a strong emphasis on operational readiness, personnel investment, and long-term fiscal responsibility.

A major accomplishment during this reporting period was the completion of department-wide CARE Team training for all fire personnel. This training focused on individual and group incident debriefing, crisis management, and peer support resources, reinforcing the department’s commitment to the mental and emotional well-being of its members. By equipping personnel with these tools, the department continues to foster a resilient workforce capable of effectively managing the challenges associated with emergency response.

2 MESSAGE FROM THE FIRE CHIEF CONTINUED
The department also conducted recruitment processes for the positions of Captain, Engineer and Firefighter, resulting in both internal promotions and the onboarding of new personnel. Mr. Carlos Torres was successfully promoted to Captain and Mr. Jim McGee was promoted to Engineer. In addition, job offers were extended to nine Firefighter EMTs (FF/EMT) and Firefighter Paramedics (FF/PM), strengthening frontline staffing and enhancing the department’s ability to meet increasing service demands.

These efforts reflect a balanced approach to developing internal talent while attracting highly qualified candidates to serve the Victorville community.

In support of modernizing operations, the department secured and implemented ImageTrend Continuum, a comprehensive data collection and management platform.

This system will significantly improve incident tracking, reporting accuracy, and data- driven decision-making, positioning the department to better analyze trends, allocate resources efficiently, and continuously improve service delivery.

The department also takes great pride in recognizing the outstanding efforts of its personnel. Engineer Shara Aivazi and Captain Carlos Torres were honored by the Rotary Club for their heroic actions during an incident that occurred in Green Tree Blvd. Their professionalism, courage, and dedication exemplifying the highest standards of the fire service and reflect positively on the entire organization.

The Victorville Fire Department continues to work diligently each day to serve the community with professionalism, integrity, and commitment. Building on the progress achieved during this reporting period, the department remains focused on advancing its mission and maintaining the trust and safety of the residents it serves.
