The chart below reflects the distribution of Sales Tax to M acerich for the past 10 fiscal years. The Sales Tax Agreement with Macerich began in 2013. There was a steady gain in activity from 2013 until 2016, followed by several years of decline, primarily due to a loss of sales to online retailers. The total amount paid through 2024 is $3,569,721.22. With the Council's approval for this payment, the total through 2025 would be $3,834,178.22 out of the maximum $18.89 million threshold, with 16 years remaining in this agreement.
