Strategic Plan Goal:
The City of Victorville Strategic Plan 2023-2026 identifies multi-year strategic goals and various strategies to work towards achieving those goals. Goal A, Financial Sustainability focuses on fostering fiscal health through disciplined long-term planning, cost control, increased revenues, and cost recovery. Specific to this item, Strategy 3 focuses on maintaining adequate reserves in the general fund in order to protect against fluctuations in the economy, unexpected expenses and to meet or exceed the Government Finance Officers Association’s recommended standard. The data in this report can assist the Council in monitoring development activity for fluctuations due to economic conditions and other factors.
Background:
Staff has compiled the attached report (Attachment A) summarizing Building Department activities and data for Fiscal Year 2025-2026.
Discussion:
The attached Building Department report provides information on permit and licensing activity and related revenue for single-family residences, new commercial, and industrial businesses and construction, and miscellaneous permits and licenses issued by the Building Department, Business License Division and Fire Prevention Division during Fiscal Year 2025-2026.
