"As I retire from my role as Homelessness
Solutions Coordinator with the City of
Victorville, I would like to express my
sincere gratitude for the opportunity to
serve this great community over the past
two and a half years. It has been an honor
to work alongside such dedicated city
employees, community partners, and the
outstanding team at the Wellness Center.
During my time with the City, I had the
privilege of being the “boots on the
ground” helping oversee the Victorville
Wellness Center, coordinating the Vehicle
Grant Program, coordinating outreach
efforts, managing the Motel Voucher
Program, and assisting many Wellness
Center participants as they worked
toward stable housing through rapid
rehousing and individualized problem-
solving case management. Every success
story we had represented a person or
family taking an important step toward a
better future.
One of the accomplishments I am most proud of is overcoming barriers so that services could be delivered more quickly and effectively.
Through the collective efforts of city staff, nonprofit partners, and our community, Victorville achieved a large reduction in its unsheltered homeless population over the past two years. This achievement was no small feat and reflected the hard work, dedication, compassion, and teamwork of many individuals who remained committed to making a positive difference everyday.
I want to extend my heartfelt thank you to every employee of the City of Victorville, the honorable City Council, the staff at the Wellness Center, our partner agencies, volunteers, and everyone who contributed to this important work. It has been a privilege to serve alongside you. I leave with great pride in what we have accomplished together and confidence that the City will continue building on this success to help house people experiencing homelessness.

The City’s Motel Voucher Program (MVP),
funded by CDBG and ERF Grants, is
designed to provide immediate assistance
to individuals when space is unavailable at
the Wellness Center or for immediate,
emergency relief. Through this program,
clients may receive this short-term bridge
housing prior to entering the Wellness
Center or as a transition toward permanent
housing. This critical resource offers
immediate stability in a safe environment
while clients continue to receive ongoing
case management and supportive
services.
