RESOLUTION NO. 26-088
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VICTORVILLE
ACCEPTING THE EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $76,616 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS
DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ALL GRANT DOCUMENTS AND ADMINISTER THE OVERALL PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Victorville 2023-2026 Strategic Plan, Goal B focuses on implementing public safety strategies, including seeking funding to invest in efficient and effective police operations that support a thriving and growing community; and WHEREAS, the Department of Justice Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Grant has awarded the City $76,616 to support the Victorville Police Department; and WHEREAS, the City desires to accept the grant funding to support program needs including enforcement, prosecution, courts, crime prevention, and technology improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VICTORVILLE DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recitals
The recitals set forth above are true and correct, and are hereby incorporated by this reference.
Section 2. City Manager Authority
The City Council hereby delegates to the City Manager or his designee the role of Signature Authority on behalf of the City to execute all grant documents necessary to secure the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant funds and administer the approved program, including the execution of agreements necessary to administer the approved grant project and budgeted items provided no contracts exceed the City Manager Contract Authority provided by Section 2.28.060 of the Victorville Municipal Code.
Section 4. Effective Date
This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
