CITY MANAGER REPORT
18. Information from City Manager and/or City Staff.
City Manager Franks reported on the work going on in the streets, namely that concrete work typically involves curbs and gutters, but may also involve asphalt. A list of scheduled street work will be published online to show timeframes for projects and will also include street, curb, and gutter lists. He addressed the most common question which is regarding any plumbing in and around private properties. If plumbing is disrupted because of City street work, said plumbing will be replaced and fixed at no expense to the property owner.
Mr. Franks encouraged the public to call in to speak to himself, the City Engineer, and/or applicable City staff to address any questions or concerns.
Mr. Franks noted a significant achievement toward obtaining compliance with State Housing and Community Development on the City's Housing Element. A six-to-eight- month time frame is expected and would most likely require zoning changes and General Plan updates.
Mr. Franks further reported that with the previously adopted budget will be moving forward and that the motorcycle detail will still be on patrol. Finally, Mr. Franks reported the City is working with OCFA to ensure that fireworks stands are certified and adhering to all laws.
