ORDINANCE NO. 2022-08
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VISALIA
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO AMEND THE CURRENT LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF VISALIA AND THE FEDERAL EXPRESS CORPORATION FOR AN ADDITIONAL FIVE YEARS AS WELL AS TO MAKE ALL REQUESTED LESSEE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE PROPERTY FOR WHICH THE FEDERAL EXPRESS CORPORATION WILL REIMBURSE THE CITY OF VISALIA WHEREAS, the City of Visalia owns and operates certain real property commonly referred to as the Visalia Municipal Airport and, WHEREAS, the City of Visalia owns and leases a structure as well as ramp space at the Visalia Municipal Airport to the Federal Express Corporation for use in their cargo delivery business, WHEREAS, the City of Visalia and Visalia Municipal Airport wish amend the current lease between the City of Visalia and the Federal Express Corporation for an additional five years while also authorizing the completion of improvements to said premises which the LESSEE has requested as well as stipulating the terms of the reimbursement for said improvements.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VISALIA,
Section 1. The City Manager of the City of Visalia is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Visalia, the amendment of the current lease agreement between the City of Visalia and the Federal Express Corporation for their facility and ramp space at the Visalia Municipal Airport for an additional five (5) years. This amended agreement would also authorize the City of Visalia to complete all LESSEE requested improvements to said facility as well as guaranteeing the terms of reimbursement for the improvements.
Section 2. This ordinance shall go into effect thirty (30) days after its passage.
