Re: Sole Source Request for Solid Waste Truck Equipment Request: Staff is requesting a sole source contract with AMCS, Inc. to upgrade the current hardware on Solid Waste trucks.
Justification: AMCS, Inc. is the current software provider for the utility billing software within our Finance department. This software is used by staff to bill customers monthly for utility services, customer service, and operational tasks like work order process and a landfill ticket database. Because some of the older equipment that is currently on some of the trucks was installed by AMCS, staff has recommended that AMCS, Inc. be used to lessen the cost of bringing the older truck back into working order and install new equipment on the newer trucks. The goal is the integration of the billing software and the hardware on the trucks to provide a more seamless customer service experience.

Recommendation: Staff recommends the sole source of the Solid Waste truck equipment from AMCS, Inc. to integrate with our Utility Billing software. This will help expedite and streamline integration between the customer service software and the truck equipment.
