Addendum No. 01 is being issued to answer questions received pertaining to the project. This addendum becomes part of the Contract Documents for the above project and must be signed and submitted with the Proposal.
ITEM 1: QUESTIONS/RESPONSES
Q1. Can a company bid on a portion of the tonnage? For example, if a company wanted to turn in a proposal for a ¼ of the proposed tonnage, would that proposal be considered? R1. The RFP does reserve the right to multiple contractors (Section V, Subsection C), and throughout the document the language is worded as such that multiple contractors may be chosen, if needed. Please be aware that the grading criteria will still be observed when making this decision. In the Proposed Project Approach section of the proposal, exceptions to the RFP should be noted.
Q2. Does the City exclude compostable plastics?
R2. This would be a question for the vendor to answer. If you do, please point it out in your proposal submittal.
Q3. Who will dispose of the solid waste received in contaminated loads? R3. Even though it is the responsibility of the contractor to sort the possible waste in contaminated loads, the City will place a roll off container at your site and remove the waste as needed. This is to help offset the cost of contamination and keep contamination to a minimum.
