5 Visalia’s SaaS solution.

Fleet routing and
optimization algorithms.

Via’s industry-leading routing and ride
assignment algorithms analyze all trip
requests, assign riders to vehicles, and
group passengers traveling in the same
direction into shared rides. Our technology
dynamically updates routes in response to
real-time demand an traffic conditions
Rider App and web booking
portal.

Via’s Rider App – a mobile application
available for free download on iOS and
Android devices – allows customers to
book pre-scheduled, on-demand, and
multimodal trips, track their vehicles, pay
for rides, and troubleshoot any issues.

Riders without smartphones can book
through a web portal, or by calling a
customer service agent over the phone.

Driver App.

Via’s Driver App provides clear visual
navigation as well as spoken instructions
to guide drivers from stop to stop. Drivers
use the app to communicate with system
administrators, dispatchers, and
customers, while the app transmits live
ride data back to the Via system.

Via Operations Center and
dispatch interface.

The Via Operations Center (VOC) is a
web-based interface where administrators
can monitor live operations, manage user
accounts, and communicate with
customers and drivers. The VOC performs
a variety of functions, including checking
trip details, adjusting account information,
accessing operational data, and more.

Data analytics and reporting.

Via leverages sophisticated analytics and
data visualization tools to share
operational data with our partners. This
interface contains a range of data reports
– including NTD reporting – that can be
queried and filtered for specific insights, or
treated as ongoing dashboards to monitor
service performance.

Software support and
maintenance.

Via partners benefit from regular system
upgrades designed to improve all of our
global services. Our servers and cloud
services are monitored continuously, and
a technical support team is on-call 24
hours a day to immediately address
issues.

7 Via provides highly sophisticated service planning and design work as a standard part of our SaaS offering. This includes conducting rigorous simulations ahead of launch, along with in-depth analyses and performance reviews on an ongoing basis for the duration of the service. Unlike conventional transportation planning firms, we understand the entire lifecycle of mobility innovation, and leverage our global experience to create bespoke service planning recommendations that are informed by on-the-ground knowhow. In 2023 alone, our proprietary simulation tools generated more than 13,000 scenarios for hundreds of existing and future services.

9 Via works diligently to ensure the success of each of our partnerships. For our service with the City of Visalia, we will designate a Partner Success Manager (PSM) to provide continuous analytical, consultative, and technical support throughout the term of the contract, and who will serve as a first point of contact to ensure the City’s service is continuously optimized for success. The PSM’s support services will include:
● Live technical support. Work with Via’s technical teams to answer questions or address issues as necessary. We will provide a transparent customer service platform powered by Zendesk, through which the City can submit technical support questions and review the status of each request. As Via’s global services operate 24 hours a day, a rotating technical manager will always be on call to resolve any problems that arise. ● Service success management. Organize and lead regular check-ins with project leads and other stakeholders to review performance, collect feedback, and align on next steps for service growth and optimization.
● Ongoing service monitoring. Monitor and analyze service performance data on an ongoing basis, providing advice on how the City can improve service quality, increase ridership, and transition between project phases.
● Product updates. Provide notifications and training (if needed) on new product features, and manage any requests for product enhancements or new features ● Service growth and expansions. Coordinate internal Via resources needed to plan and execute on service expansions, such as fleet size increases, or the introduction of microtransit service zones.

Partner Support
Ongoing Product Improvements
Unlike many of our competitors, our software solution is provided as an all-inclusive service; we do not upcharge for periodic system upgrades or feature refinements, eliminating the risk of excessive add-on costs associated with scope adjustments. Via will regularly upgrade the backend system to improve the City’s product in response to performance metrics and user feedback across all Via deployments. Automatic version upgrades are always performed outside of service hours to minimize the risk of affecting live service.

We constantly build new features in response to product requests from hundreds of Via partners across the globe. As a result, Via’s products are much more feature-rich than other offerings.

A continuous partnership.

11 Via was established in 2012 with a simple, ambitious mission: to build software that powers the world’s most convenient and efficient public mobility solutions. Inspired by the potential of shared rides to alleviate congestion and reduce single-occupancy vehicle use, our founders applied their knowledge of complex data networks and machine learning to build a digital platform that could optimize the assignment and aggregation of ride requests across a fleet of vehicles.

Over the past twelve years, we have built a suite of software designed to allow cities and transit agencies to transform their legacy transportation systems into smart, data-driven, technology-enabled networks and manage every aspect of public mobility. We offer solutions for microtransit, ADA paratransit, senior transportation, integrated trip planning and payment, electric vehicle (EV) and autonomous vehicle (AV) fleet management, school bus routing, fixed route planning and scheduling through Remix, and Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) through Citymapper.

Via’s portfolio also includes Remix, the world’s leading transportation planning software. Via and Remix provide an unmatched suite of tools and services to design, plan, optimize and analyze multimodal transportation systems. Together, we have deployed transit solutions in partnership with over 750 cities and transit agencies in 40 countries around the world. Below is a map of our projects across the globe:
