Sorry I didn’t get my comments to you timely.
Suffice it to say;
1) Thank you very much for including the D.R. Horton Team in the dialogue, 2) We are generally not in favor of any alterations to our plans as it results in price increase to our customers, 3) We do understand the State requires the City to have design standards and we do appreciate being considered during the process to draft the City’s design standards, 4) Our Product Development team has reviewed the latest draft Design Standards and has determined there is a way forward with most of our existing designs according to the draft design standards the city circulated last month.
5) The direct comments from our Product Development Director are; “After review, there are no significant changes that will need to be made to our current plans in order to meet these standards.
Currently, we only have pop outs on the windows and doors on the front elevations. We will need to add them to the sides and back to meet the requirements for Fenestration.”
We are supportive of the draft standards and will have no opposition to what has been proposed.

This is a reminder that the last day to submit a comment on the Revised Public Review Draft of the City of Visalia’s Residential Objective Design Standards is Monday, March 31, 2025. A copy of the Draft Ordinance is attached to this email.
We anticipate that the City Council public hearing date to consider adopting this Draft Ordinance will be Monday, April 21, though we will confirm this in a later email.

Subject: Visalia's Residential Objective Design Standards - Revised Public Review Draft Out Now
Hello all,
The Revised Public Review Draft of the City of Visalia’s Residential Objective Design Standards is out for public comment. A copy of the ordinance is attached to this email. Additionally, the ordinance can be viewed and downloaded from the project website (www.housevisalia.com; click on Zoning Code Update at the top of the page).
Again, these revised standards are the result of City Council direction and additional engagement conducted with the local development community which included many of you.
The draft standards are available for public review and comment through Monday, March 31, 2025. To submit a comment on the draft standards, "Comments" button on the email directly to me at [email protected], or submit your comments directly through the website. Details will come later regarding a future public hearing, possibly occurring in late April 2025.
