Provide Increased Traffic Capacity for
Recent & Future Development Along
Riggin Ave.
PROJECT IMPROVEMENTS
Roadway Widening
Riggin Avenue to be widened to a 4-lane road from Kelsey Street to Shirk Road
• Including median curb and protected turn lanes
• SCE Pole relocation
• Full Depth Recycling – Cement (FDR-C) method of
roadway construction.
Class IV Bike Lane
A Class IV protected bike lane will be constructed running parallel with Riggin Avenue from Kelsey Street to Shirk Road. Underground Utility Improvements
Improvements to sanitary sewer, storm drain, and water utilities
PROJECT IMPROVEMENTS
Electrical Improvements
Signalization of Riggin Avenue & Shirk Road
A traffic signal will be constructed at the intersection of Riggin Avenue & Shirk Road.
Streetlights
Street lighting improvements along Riggin Avenue
Concrete Improvements
Improvements include curb & gutter, curb ramps, and
concrete median curbs with stamped median concrete.
Landscaping Improvements
Planting of 40+ trees in the median of Riggin Avenue
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Tentative Construction Dates – June 2025 through
December 2025
• Roadway Construction: Riggin Ave from Kelsey
St. to Shirk St.
• Work Hours: 7 am – 3:30 pm Monday-Friday
• Riggin Avenue Planned to be open to traffic during
construction.
PROJECT PHASING
• Roadway construction to be completed in three (3) phases:
• Phase 1(Orange): West bound (north of existing Riggin Ave) widening & improvements
• Phase 2 (Blue): East bound (south of existing Riggin Ave) widening & improvements
• Phase 3 (Green): Existing Riggin Avenue roadway reconstruction
