RESOLUTION NO. 2025-40
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VISALIA
CERTIFYING TO THE COUNTY THE VALIDITY OF THE LEGAL PROCESS USED TO PLACE MISCELLANEOUS SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS ON THE SECURED TAX ROLL WHEREAS, Sections 38771-38775 of the Government Code authorizes cities to declare what constitutes a nuisance, establish a procedure for the abatement of a nuisance, and make the cost of abatement of a nuisance a special assessment against the parcel; and WHEREAS, the written notices have been mailed to all delinquent accounts, and the required public hearing has been held as specified by the Visalia Ordinance Code; and WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on June 2, 2025; and WHEREAS, the City is placing miscellaneous special assessments on the Tulare County secured property tax roll for collection; and WHEREAS, the City has complied with all laws pertaining to the levy of the special assessments to be collected; and WHEREAS, the matter of the outstanding delinquent code enforcement fees for 3045 W Tyler, 078-180-064; 1100 N Ben Maddox, 098-280-001; 217 NW 3rd Ave, 094-041-002; 777 N Burke, 094-110-008; and 250 S Burke, 094-211-027 have been confirmed to be correct, and the fee assessment is recommended to be placed on the tax roll for collection; and WHEREAS, the matter of the outstanding utility billing fees for 1209 E Ferguson Ave, 091-260-018; 1020 N Divisadero St, 093-061-023; and 636 E Roosevelt Ave, 094-130-051, have been confirmed to be correct, and the fee assessment is recommended to be placed on the tax roll for collection.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Visalia that the following items be added to the certified list of Miscellaneous Special Assessments, and direct the Finance Director to give the updated list to the Tulare County Auditor for placement on the secured tax roll for collection:
1. 3045 W Tyler, 078-180-064, $3,048.10
2. 1100 N Ben Maddox, 098-280-001, $3,159.04
3. 1209 E Ferguson Ave, 091-260-018, $698.15
4. 1020 N Divisadero St, 093-061-023, $735.54
5. 636 E Roosevelt Ave, 094-130-051, $19,230.44
6. 217 NW 3rd Ave, 094-041-002, $10,818.34
7. 777 N Burke, 094-110-008, $3,252.85
8. 250 S Burke, 094-211-027, $3,252.85
