RESOLUTION NO. 2025-47
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VISALIA AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL FUNDING UNDER U.S. DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION
FOR THE SAFE STREETS AND ROADS FOR ALL GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Transportation is authorized to make grants to local governmental authorities to provide funding to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries in a locality or region through the development of Planning and Demonstration Grants and Implementation Grants; WHEREAS, The City of Visalia is an eligible local governmental authority and desires to apply for said funding of a Planning and Demonstration Grant in partnership with the Tulare County Association of Governments for the development of a federally approved Action Plan and safety demonstration activities in support of the Action Plan; WHEREAS, the City of Visalia and Tulare County Association of Governments have committed to provide the maximum twenty percent (20%) share of the cost of the development of the Action Plan; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the City Council of Visalia does hereby authorize the City Manager and/or his/her Designee to file and execute an application on behalf of the City of Visalia in partnership with the Tulare County Association of Governments to the U.S. Department of Transportation for the development of a federally approved Action Plan.
That the City Manager and/or his/her Designee is authorized to execute and file all certification of assurances, contracts or agreements or any other documents required by the Department that may be necessary to receive said funding That the City Manager and/or his/her Designee is authorized to provide additional information as the Department may require in connection with the application for the Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant Program.
