RESOLUTION NO. 2025-45
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VISALIA AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL FUNDING UNDER FTA SECTION 5339(c) (49 U.S.C. SECTION 5339c) FOR THE LOW OR NO EMISSION GRANT PROGRAM WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Transportation is authorized to make grants to local governmental authorities through the Federal Transit Administration to provide funding for the purchase or lease of zero-emission and low-emission transit buses as well as acquisition, construction, and leasing of required supporting facilities; WHEREAS, The City of Visalia is an eligible local governmental authority and desires to apply for said funding in partnership with the National Park Service for the purchase of ten (10) battery-electric buses and the construction of twelve (12) Level 3 electric chargers in the National Park and twelve (12) Level 3 electric chargers at the City’s Corporation Yard; and WHEREAS, the National Park Service has committed to provide the maximum twenty percent (20%) share of the cost for the purchase of transit buses and developing bus-related equipment and facilities, and any other costs associated with the application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the City Council of Visalia does hereby authorize the City Manager and/or his/her Designee to file and execute an application on behalf of the City of Visalia in partnership with the National Park Service to the Administration to fund the purchase of zero-emission battery-electric buses and the supporting electric charging infrastructure.
That the City Manager and/or his/her Designee is authorized to execute and file all certification of assurances, contracts or agreements or any other document required by the Administration.
That the City Manager and/or his/her Designee is authorized to provide additional information as the Administration may require in connection with the application for the Low or No Emission Grant Program.
