ORDINANCE NO. 2026-02
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VISALIA
AUTHORIZING THE LEASE OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY
TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
WHEREAS, the City of Visalia owns certain real property generally located at 9501 W airport Dr, Visalia Ca 93277, otherwise known as the “Business Terminal”; and WHEREAS, the United States of America, Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration has utilized said real property for the purpose of housing equipment crucial to the operation of the “AWOS” or Automated Weather Observation System which is a key component of safe and efficient air traffic at Visalia Municipal Airport since 1996; and, WHEREAS, said FAA “AWOS” antenna and equipment is of benefit to, and necessary for the continued operation of the Visalia Municipal Airport; and, WHEREAS, the original lease agreement between the City of Visalia and the United States of America terminated on September 30th 2015 and has existed on a year-to-year basis since, and the parties wish to enter into a new lease agreement for the continued use of the property and existing facilities; and, WHEREAS, the subject real property is described as follows:
800 square feet of space at the Business Terminal located at 9501 W. Airport Drive, Visalia, California 93277.
Now therefore be it ordained by the Council of the City of Visalia, Section 1. The City Manager of the City of Visalia is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Visalia, that certain Lease Agreement by and between the City of Visalia as Lessor and the United States of America, as Lessee, Lease No. 690EG4-25-L-00106.
Section 2. This ordinance shall go into effect thirty (30) days after its passage.
