Mayor Taylor called the meeting to order at 4:31 p.m.

Creative criticism, presented with appropriate courtesy, is welcome. Each speaker will be allowed three minutes, and a timer will notify you when your time is expired. Please begin your comments by stating and spelling your name and providing your city of residence.

Visalia City Council Meeting Minutes - Final June 29, 2026
1. 26-0025Planning Commissioner Interviews - Conduct interviews and appoint one applicant to fill the pending Planning Commission vacancy for the term ending June 30, 2028, defer the decision or reopen the recruitment process.
City Council conducted interviews with the following applicants for the Planning Commission: Joseph Halford, Hector Prado Delgado, Kevin Bernardo, Cristina Gutierrez, Fred Sheriff, Efrain Becerra, and Clint Andren. Each applicant provided background information and responded to questions from the Council.
Following the interviews, the Council engaged in discussion regarding the applicants’ qualifications, experience, and interest in serving on the Planning Commission. After deliberation, the Council proceeded with the appointment process.
A motion was made by Council Member Steve Nelsen and seconded by Vice Mayor Liz Wynn to appoint Cristina Gutierrez to the Planning Commission to fill the term ending June 30, 2028. The motion carried unanimously with the following vote:

Mayor Taylor adjourned the meeting at 6:25 p.m.
