RESOLUTION NO. 2026 - 63
A RESOLUTION OF THE VISALIA CITY COUNCIL
ACCEPTING A PORTION OF CITY OWNED
PROPERTY INTO THE PUBLIC STREET SYSTEM
WHEREAS, the City of Visalia, State of California, owns real property, intended for a temporary on-site storm drain basin, and other public purposes; located at the southeast corner of Caldwell Avenue and Ben Maddox Way in the City of Visalia; and WHEREAS, the City of Visalia desires to accept a portion of the parcel described in the Grant Deed recoded on 3/21/2024 under Document No. 2024-0012939 into the public street system, with the total size of the portion of land totaling approximately 16,785 square feet; and WHEREAS, said area is more particularly described in Attachment “A” legal description and Attachment “B” a diagram depicting the location of the area being accepted into the public street system as part of the area referred to as Caldwell Avenue and Ben Maddox Way; and WHEREAS, Section 1806(b) of the California Streets and Highways Code states that no public or private street or road shall become a city street or road until the governing body, by resolution, has caused the street or road to be accepted into the city street system; and WHEREAS, pursuant to state law requirements, the City Council may by resolution authorize the acceptance of a portion of a public street or road into the public street system.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
The City of Visalia, does hereby accept into the public street system the above-described area of City-owned property, totaling approximately 16,785 square feet of the parcel described in the Grant Deed recorded on 3/21/2024 under Document No. 2024-0012939, into the City of Visalia public street system.
