RECOMMENDATION: Discuss uses for a vacant 1.59-acre City owned parcel (Assessor Parcel Number 176-300-54) and provide direction to staff.
PRIOR ACTION: On February 9, 2021, adopted City Council Resolution No. 2021-23, declaring one vacant
1.59-acre parcel (Assessor Parcel Number 176-300-54) as surplus land under the Surplus Land Act as amended by AB 1486 (Vote: 4-0, Ritter recused herself).
On May 22, 2018, adopted City Council Resolution No. 2018-80, approving a Real Property Sale Agreement with the Community Development Commission of the City of Vista and approving certain related implementing agreements (Vote: 3-0, Ritter and Aguilera recused).
On November 10, 2015, adopted City Council Resolution No. 2015-177, consenting to the approval by the Community Development Commission of the City of Vista Acting as the Housing Authority of the City of Vista, approving a Disposition and Development Agreement by and among the Commission, the Chartered City of Vista and Monarch Acquisition Company, LLC, a California Limited Liability Company (Vote: 4-0, Ritter did not participate because of a statutory conflict of interest).
STATEMENT ON THE SUBJECT: Councilmember Melendez requested the City Manager place a discussion item on an upcoming agenda to discuss uses for a vacant 1.59-acre City owned parcel (Accessor Parcel Number 176-300-54). The property is located along the south side of E. Vista Way north of Civic Center Drive, adjacent to 740 Paseo Buena Vista. A Vicinity Map is included as Exhibit 1.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no direct fiscal impact associated with this discussion item.
