Personnel Rules Amendments. Human Resources staff met and consulted with the City’s four labor groups on updates to the City’s Personnel Rules. These updates include bringing the City’s Family Medical Leave Policy, Section 12.5, into compliance with recent changes to the California Family Rights Act (CFRA) regarding leave, as well as the bereavement leave language, Section 9.3, due to changes to California Government Code 12945.7.
Section 3.13, Employment of Family Members and Co-habitants, has been updated to reflect that family members and co-habitants may work in the same department, as long as they are not being supervised by a family member or co-habitant. The language further clarifies that Department Directors may not have family members or co-habitants working within their own department.
A copy of the updated Personnel Rules is on file with the City Clerk.
