Subject: Urgent Request: Safety Concern Regarding the Median on Vista Way and Franklin IYou don't often get email from teeenadelarosa@gmail com_ Learn why this is important Dear Ms. Kathy Valdez,
I hope this email fords you well. I am writing as a concerned resident of Vista, California, regarding a safety issue that has been causing considerable anxiety and inconvenience to both myself and other members of our community.

The matter I would like to address is the median located on Vista Way and Franklin. While I understand that medians serve important purposes inroad design, this particular median has become not only inconvenient but also bazardous for all road users. I would like to bring to your attention a few pressurg concerns:

Visibility Issues: The median significantly hampers visibility for drivers attempting to make U-tums or turning into the SuKame parking lot. This limited visibility has resulted in near - miss accidents, causing anxiety and potential danger to those who use this intersection regularly.

Traffic Congestion: The presence of the median contributes to traffic congestion in the area, especially during peak hours. This not only adds to commute times but also poses a risk of rear -end collisions.

Questionable Utility: It appears that this median does not serve a clear and essential purpose, further adding to the frustration of the local community.

Given these concerns, I kindly request that the City of Vista consider the removal of this median as a matter of priority. The safety and well-being of our community members should always be our top priority. Removing the median would alleviate anxiety, reduce traffic congestion, and mitigate the risk of accidents in this area.

I understand that these matters require a thorough evaluation and consideration of the impact on traffic flow and safety. However, I strongly believe that addressing this issue promptly will enhance the quality of life for those living and working in the Vista community.

I appreciate your attention to this matter and would welcome the opportunity to discuss it further if necessary. Thank you for your dedication to our community's safety and well-being.

Sincerely,
Christina Delarosa

Subject: Santa Fe median.

IYou don't often get email from . Learn why this is important Hello Council member Valdez. My name is Barry Walker. I am the founder and owner of Tradecraft Farms with my brother Brent and Family. Our family has lived in Vista for over 40 years.

I am writing with concerns we have regarding the median that was installed on E Vista Way in front of our business. Although we know it was installed with travel and egress in mind we have witnessed dozens and dozens of safety issues. Schoolchildren jaywalking, cars reversing down the street a hundred yards to cut through the small turn lane, cars literally driving over the median, and the list goes on and on. Our security cameras capture accidents on a regular bases as cars try to navigate a shortcut or make sudden stops realizing they are being herded farther down the road.

Of course this median effects ALL the businesses on our side of E Vista Way and we feel we do not get the opportunities businesses get on the other side of the street because of the one direction turn lane but this issue has become much much more than a business situation.

Someone is going to get hurt. And we can't sit by without saying something.

We appreciate that there will be a meeting tomorrow to discuss. We will be there to answer any questions you have.

Always my best,
Barry G. Walker

IYou donY often get email from-1 Pam why this is important To the item D 1 on hand for Tuesdays meeting I wanted to voice my opinion. As a person who works at 732 East Vista Way/ Franklin Street I support a traffic signal. While working at this location I personally see the need for a traffic light to be installed. I have witnessed several accidents due to not having a safe way to mediate traffic and making a firm/ u-turn. Traffic on East Vista Way at peak times edge people to block on coming traffic to make a turn. At the same time also causing accidents when not successful. There is a big danger element and safety concern to the citizens without a traffic signal at this section. I will be present at Tuesday's meeting to voice my concern and support of this item.

Edgar Gaytan

Hello Council member Valdez.

I am writing to voice my concerns with the median installed on East Santa Fe and the abundance of jaywalking and safety concerns that have resulted accordingly. I have personally seen many kids crossing East Vista Way without using a crosswalk and countless other safety issues.

We are confident the City of Vista will take the proper steps necessary to rectify this unnecessary safety hazard.

Thank you for your consideration in regards to this important matter.

IYou don't often get email from- I earn wb; this m important Hi Kathy,
I'm reaching out to you to express my support for increasing safety along the section of East Vista Way between Townsite and Civic Center Drive. Speaking on behalf of those driving longer vehicles, I find it is extremely unsafe to have to make u-turns at either ends of East Vista Way in order to access businesses located in between. Also, the current median does not provide sufficient and safe space for cars to enter and exit businesses along this roadway, nor is there enough safe space for turnarounds from the current median into this busy stretch of East Vista Way! Hopefully, based on today's local support to increase safety for both pedestrians and traffic, we can see some positive change come about! Please replace the median, or install a proper traffic light to improve this traffic and safety hazard!
Thank you for your consideration,
Marshal

To the City of Vista, California,
This letter is to address the issue of the center divider island that splits Vista Way between Townsite and Civic Center. My hope is that the City of Vista will take the necessary action to replace the median and provide safe traffic lit access points that will elevate the need for drivers to drive over the median or drive the distance they have to now to access the opposite direction on Vista Way. The median is a hazard that is causing accidents and endangering public safety. Please consider this at the City Council Meeting this even* as it is eslremely important and should be apriority for the City Council
