RECOMMENDATION: Discuss the effect of inflation on citywide compensation and provide direction to staff.
PRIOR ACTION: On May 23, 2023, received a report on the draft Fiscal Years 2023/24 and 2024/25 Operating Budget and instructed staff to implement an additional 3 percent across the board salary increase (in addition to the already budgeted cost of living increase) (Vote: 5-0).
STATEMENT ON THE SUBJECT: Mayor Franklin requested the City Manager place a discussion item on an upcoming agenda to discuss the effect of inflation on citywide compensation.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no direct fiscal impact associated with this discussion item.
