RECOMMENDATION: Discuss the City hosting presentations provided by knowledgeable outside agencies to inform the community about their civil rights.

STATEMENT ON THE SUBJECT: Councilmember Contreras requested the City Manager place an item on a future agenda to discuss the City’s participation in Know Your Rights workshops and to offer opportunities to collaborate with knowledgeable outside agencies and organizations to provide additional educational opportunities for the community regarding their civil rights.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no direct fiscal impact associated with this discussion item.

It is very important that we inform our community of their civil rights. The City must participate in Know Your Rights workshops and offer opportunities and education for the community to know our Constitutional Rights.
