SUMMARY OF USES
Station alerting systems are critical for ensuring timely and effective emergency response by fire personnel. These systems include lights, sirens, voice announcements, and video scrolling alerts that are automatically activated when an emergency call is dispatched to a station. The alerting systems currently in use at Fire Stations 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 are outdated, increasingly unreliable, and no longer supported by the manufacturer. In contrast, the new alerting system installed at the recently constructed Fire Station 3 utilizes updated technology that significantly improves response readiness. To enhance consistency, operational efficiency, and reliability across all fire stations, staff recommend the replacement of the outdated systems at the remaining five stations with the new standardized alerting system.SUMMARY OF SOURCES Public FacilitiesPROJECT NUMBER

SUMMARY OF USES
Source Capture Exhaust Extraction Systems (SCES), such as Plymovent systems, are critical safety mechanisms installed in fire station apparatus bays to capture and remove hazardous vehicle exhaust fumes directly at the source. These systems help protect the health and safety of fire personnel by minimizing exposure to diesel exhaust and other harmful emissions. The SCES currently installed at Fire Stations 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 are outdated, failing, or both, and are in urgent need of replacement. Replacement of these systems is essential to maintain compliance with occupational safety standards and to ensure a safe working environment for fire personnel.
