RECOMMENDATION: Receive recommendations from City Commissions/Committees/Boards.

PRIOR ACTION: On October 14, 2025, received recommendations from City Commissions/ Committees/Boards (Vote: 5-0).
On September 23, 2025, received recommendations from City Commissions/Committees/Boards (No Vote Taken).
STATEMENT ON THE SUBJECT: The City Council has established a variety of Commissions, Committees, and Boards to discuss topics and provide recommendations to the City Council. Those items that are not already scheduled to come before the City Council are presented in a Commission Recommendations agenda report. This report is simply to receive the recommendations; no action is taken on the recommendation. If a City Council member wishes to discuss a recommendation, they will inform the City Manager that they would like the item to be put on a future agenda for discussion.
Environmental Commission Recommendation
On November 19, 2025, the Environmental Commission voted unanimously to recommend that the City Council establish an Ordinance banning the sale and distribution of plastic beverage bottles on city property and at city-affiliated events, with the provision that no city funds shall be used to purchase plastic bottled beverages for the city’s general use. This would include exemptions for emergencies, lack of alternatives, and a financial hardship waiver. (Vote: 4-0, Tapia, Colón and Sainz absent).
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact associated with this item.
