STATEMENT ON THE SUBJECT: In March of 2024, staff presented the Citywide Facilities Master Program to assess the condition of City-owned facilities, identify operational needs and prioritize projects to ensure that City facilities are maintained to an acceptable level of service. Under the program, staff assess facility conditions to identify necessary repairs and upgrades, evaluate current and future needs and develop project cost projections. A comprehensive project list has been established which is regularly reviewed and revised as conditions evolve and needs are identified.
Staff have prepared a project status update for Fiscal Year 2025/26, and a current list of projects recommended for completion in Fiscal Year 2026/27. The total projected cost for proposed repairs and upgrades in Fiscal Year 2026/27 is $3,678,000. A detailed breakdown of projects and associated costs is provided in Exhibit 1.
Staff recommend utilizing Prop L and Redevelopment Fund Reserves to fund the proposed FY 2026/27 projects and will return to City Council to allocate funds in future fiscal periods.
FISCAL IMPACT: There is no direct fiscal impact associated with the staff recommendation. Any fiscal impacts will be evaluated and implemented after receiving direction from the City Council and will be included in the FY2026/27 Operating Budget.
