5 workshops.
• An additional vehicle will allow for better transportation access across various programs. A new vehicle would cost ~$100,000 and $42,000/year for a driver. • Currently, the fees for the Out and About Program are $5 round trip and $3 one way. This cost is less than NCTD and significantly less than ride sharing apps. • Reach out to NCTD to advocate for more services provided to seniors. • General support of an additional vehicle, but funding not currently in the budget. Would like to re-visit in the future.
• Staff to prepare an analysis of the costs of providing transportation through the Out and About Program and through vouchers; also look at volunteer drivers. • The City’s Communications team is working to increase social media and other communications to reach more seniors.
DIRECTED STAFF TO ANALYZE EXPANSION OF TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS FOR SENIOR PROGRAMS AND SERVICES.
