Vista Safe Parking
Safe Parking Program: Introduction
Est in August of 2023, the city of Vista’s
Safe Parking Program has been providing
safety, stability, and resources to
households living in their vehicles. Our
goal is for every individual who engages in
the program to exit into more stable living
.
Safe Parking Program: Jan-March 2026
Safe Parking Program: Jan-March 2026
Safe Parking Program: Inception-March 2026
Safe Parking Program: Inception-March 2026
Safe Parking Program: Financials
This quarter we were able to assist 4 households with essential vehicle repairs totaling $9,515.97. This was achieved by utilizing the Costal Community grant that was dedicated for older adults within the North County Safe Parking Programs.
Safe Parking Program: Success Stories
• An older adult male entered Vista Safe Parking in October 2025 after previously exiting the program successfully in 2024. He returned seeking a safe and stable environment while working toward affordable housing.
• During his enrollment, he faced a severe medical diagnosis that created additional challenges; however, the city of Vista’s Safe Parking Program allowed him to remain safe while receiving treatment and continuing to work with onsite case management.
• Through coordination with his medical provider, he was connected to Enhanced Case Management (ECM), which provided additional support and housing navigation services. With continued support, the participant successfully transitioned into permanent housing, and ECM will continue providing ongoing services to support his long-term stability.
• Total time in Program: 128 nights
