S
TATEMENT ON THE SUBJECT: The City’s first Economic Development efforts and plans were originally developed in cooperation with the Vista Economic Development Association (VEDA). In 2009, the City implemented its first formal Economic Development Strategic Plan. This document, like most strategies, was updated every few years based on new information and emerging trends. The last Vista Economic Development Strategy (VEDS) was adopted in 2021. These strategies laid the foundation for many of the economic development successes we see today, including development in the Vista Business Park, the revitalization and activation of Downtown Vista, and the creation and expansion of the Craft Beverage Industry.
The goal
of the VEDS effort is to provide a comprehensive roadmap for generating quality economic growth in the City of Vista. The VEDS incorporates vision and policy direction established by the City Council and other planning documents, including the draft Vista General Plan 2050, Climate Action Plan (CAP), 2025- AGENDA
