CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Pro Tem Wu called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
City Clerk De Dios announced Mayor Cajulis would be participating in the meeting by zoom from the Mayors Conference in Washington DC.
ROLL CALL:
PRESENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: M/Cajulis, MPT/Wu, C/Freedman, C/Law, C/Tragarz ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
Also present: City Manager Weiner; City Attorney Leibold; Community Development Director Vasquez; Public Works Director Barcelo; Senior Management Analyst Markel and City Clerk De Dios.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FOR THE CITY COUNCIL:
There being no input, it was unanimously moved by the City Council to close oral communications.
CLOSED SESSION: Council went into closed session at 5:32 p.m.
A. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNCSEL – EXISTING LITIGATION (Paragraph (1) of subdivision (d) of Gov’t Code Section 54956.9) Name of cases: Alex Ren v. City of Walnut et al
(Case No. 2:25-CV-25-10718-JLS and FPPC Complaint No. COM-10092025-03383) B. CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL – ANITICIPATED LITIGATION Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to paragraph (2) of subdivision (d) of Gov’t Code Section 54956.9: 1 potential case
RECONVENE COUNCIL MEETING AND ANNOUNCE CLOSED SESSION ACTION:
The meeting reconvened at 7:00 p.m. and it was stated that Council would continue the closed session meeting after the regular meeting. The Council returned to closed session at 10:36 p.m.
The meeting reconvened at 11:46 p.m. with no reportable action.
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the City Council special meeting adjourned at 11:47 p.m.
