In-person oral comments were received from: Kris Hunter; Steve Martin (provided handout); Derric Haynie; David Brown; Stewart Roberts; Russell Coweill; Rich Ambrosini; Read Powell; Luis Moura; Michael Gabrielson; Maren Smith; Marian Hayes; Teresa Wenzel (provided handout); Ed Oncena; Steve Bonini; Mark Nollseh; and Cindy Gershen. Remote public comments were received from: User - Redap; Julie Welsh; Chris Reilly; and Shivas. Written public comments were also received and provided to the City Council, and posted online as part of the meeting record.
Upon hearing 21 comments related to pickleball at Rudgear Park, Mayor Francois reported that staff intends to collaborate and bring together representatives from the Rudgear Park neighborhood and the Walnut Creek Pickleball Club via a facilitated discussion, to develop solutions for how to minimize the impacts in the short term and referring the issue to the PROS Commission for a long-term solution.
