CITY OF WEED CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
May 11, 2023
The City Council of the City of Weed held a special meeting on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 3:00 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Mayor Ken Palfini called the meeting to order and led recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Present, in addition to Mayor Palfini, were Council Members Bob Hall, Mark Mazzoni, Darrell Parham, and Susan Tavalero. Also present were City Manager Tim Rundel, Chief of Police Justin Mayberry, Director of Public Works Craig Sharp, Fire Chief Steve Duncan, Finance Director Anna Guzman, and City Clerk Sandra Duchi.
PUBLIC COMMENT
There was none.
AGENDA
A. Discussion - Budget Workshop Update and Information (No Action) City Manager Rundel opened the special meeting. Discussed the budget process and what to expect.
Finance Director Guzman discussed the budgets for Fire, Police, Public Works, Administration, and the Finance Departments. Council Members’ questions were asked and answered.
Council Member Tavalero moved to adjourn to closed session at 4:08 pm. Council Member Parham seconded the motion, and the vote was:
AYES: Council Member Hall, Mazzoni, Palfini, Parham, and Tavalero NOES: None
ABSENT: None
CLOSED SESSION
A. Conference with Legal Counsel; Initiation of Litigation (Gov. Code § 54956.9(d)(4))
Number of Potential Cases: One (1)
Council Member Hall moved to adjourn to open session. Council Member Tavalero seconded the motion, and the vote was:
AYES: Council Member Hall, Mazzoni, Palfini, Parham, and Tavalero NOES: None
ABSENT: None
