Council Work Session Minutes
October 12, 2023
The City Council conducted a Work Session at City Hall 550 Main Street, Weed, CA 96094 on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 5:00 pm. Topics include:
• First 5’s Proclamation of the 16th Annual “Read Across Siskiyou”. • Rachel Jereb, Senior Planner, County of Siskiyou will present their permit-ready singlefamily dwelling plans. • Finance – By Motion – Approve Resolution No. 14-2023 Adopting Finance Policy 108, Procurement Policy, and Procedures for Federally Funded Projects. • Finance – By Motion – Approve Resolution No. 17-2023 Adopting updated Finance Policy 107.
• Police Department – By Motion – Approve Resolution No. 18-2023 approving amended COPS spending plan FY 23/24.
• Public Safety – By Motion – Approve Encroachment Permit closing Main Street from Inez Street to Alamo Ave. for Weed Chamber of Commerce Trunk or Treat on October 28, 2023. • Administration – By Motion – Approve City Hall Holiday Closure Schedule. • By Motion - Approve City Council Minutes for Work Session, and Regular Meeting Minutes from 9/14/2023.
• By Motion - Approve payment warrants dated 9-21-2023 including any voided warrants totaling $293,680.78.
• By Motion – Approve and file month end report for September 2023. • Finance - by Motion, the Council will consider introduction and first reading by title only of Ordinance No. 471-2023, updating WMC 3.04 Purchasing.
• Discussion Only – At the request of the Mayor – the Council will discuss options for a Condemnation Ordinance and give directions to staff.

All items were discussed in an open forum, no decisions were made at the work session.
