CITY OF WEED CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
June 24, 2024
The City Council of the City of Weed held a special meeting on Monday June 24, 2024, at 4:30 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Mayor Darrell Parham called the meeting to order and led recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Present, in addition to Mayor Parham, were Council Members Bob Hall, Mark Mazzoni, Ken Palfini, and Susan Tavalero. Also present was Police Chief Justin Mayberry, Finance Director Jill Porterfield, and City Clerk Sandra Duchi
PUBLIC COMMENT
There was none.
COUNCIL BUSINESS
A. July City Council Meeting – by Motion – The Council considered a change in date for the July regular meeting due to Carnevale schedule conflicts. Council Members discussed the need to reschedule the meeting on July 11, 2024. Council Member Tavalero moved to approve the rescheduling of the meeting to July 15, 2024, at 4:30pm and the cancellation of the regular meeting scheduled for July 11, 2024. Council Member Hall seconded the motion, and the votes was:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Mazzoni, Parham, Palfini, and Tavalero NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ADJOURN TO CLOSED SESSION
Council Member Palfini moved to adjourn to closed session. Council Member Mazzoni seconded the motion and the vote was:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Mazzoni, Parham, Palfini, and Tavalero NOES: None
ABSENT: None

Council Member Palfini moved to adjourn to open session. Council Member Mazzoni seconded the motion, and the vote was:
AYES: Council Members Hall, Mazzoni, Parham, Palfini, and Tavalero NOES: None
ABSENT: None
The Council voted 5-0 to appoint Chief Mayberry as acting city manager until such time as the recruitment process for a new/interim City Manager is complete due to the resignation of the current City Manager.
