CITY OF WEED CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
AUGUST 20, 2024
The City Council of the City of Weed held a special meeting on Tuesday August 20, 2024, at 4:36 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Mayor Darrell Parham called the meeting to order and led recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Present, in addition to Mayor Parham, were Council Members Ken Palfini, and Bob Hall. Also present were Interim City Manager Steve Baker, City Clerk Sandra Duchi, and Finance Director Jill Porterfield.
Council Member Palfini moved to excuse Council Members Mazzoni and Tavalero due to scheduling conflicts. Council Member Hall seconded the motion, and the vote was:
AYES: Council Member Hall, Palfini, and Parham
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Members Mazzoni, and Tavalero
PUBLIC COMMENT
There was none.
AGENDA
A. By Motion – Discussed and considered adopting Resolution 40-2024 canceling the November 5, 2024, election and appointing the nominated City Council candidates to the positions that were to be filled at the election. Interim City Manager Baker presented the staff report. Council Members’ questions were asked and answered. Council Member Parham moved to approve Resolution No. 40- 2024 as amended. Council Member Palfini seconded the motion, and the vote was:
AYES: Council Member Hall, Palfini, and Parham
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Members Mazzoni, and Tavalero
Council Member Palfini moved to adjourn the special meeting. Council Member Hal seconded the motion, and the vote was:
AYES: Council Member Hall, Palfini, and Parham
NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Members Mazzoni, and Tavalero
