SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
FEBRUARY 13, 2025
The City Council of the City of Weed held a special meeting on Thursday February 13, 2025, at 5:00pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Mayor Darrell Parham called the meeting to order and led recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Present, in addition to Mayor Parham, were Council Members Mark Mazzoni, Ken Palfini, and Phet Virasonh. Also present were Interim City Manager Steve Baker, City Attorney David Ruderman, Chief of Police Justin Mayberry, Public Works Director Chris Davis, and City Clerk Sandra Duchi.
Council Member Palfini moved to excuse Council Member Whetstine as she was absent at the time of roll call. Council Member Mazzoni seconded the motion, and the vote was:
AYES: Council Member Mazzoni, Palfini, Parham, and Virasonh NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Whetstine
ABSTAIN: None
PUBLIC COMMENT
There was none.
ADJOURN TO CLOSED SESSION
Council Members Parham and Virasonh recused themselves from closed session due to conflicts of interest.
Council Member Palfini moved to adjourn to closed session at 5:03pm, Council Member Mazzoni seconded the motion, and the vote was:
AYES: Council Member Mazzoni, Palfini, Parham, and Virasonh NOES: None
ABSENT: Council Member Whetstine
ABSTAIN: None
CLOSED SESSION
A. Conference With Legal Counsel; Anticipated Litigation (Gov. Code § 54956.9(d)(4)) Number of Cases: 1.
Council Member Whetstine joined the closed session at 5:20pm.
Council Member Mazzoni moved to adjourn to open session at 5:38pm. Council Member Whetstine seconded the motion, and the vote was:
AYES: Council Member Mazzoni, Palfini, Parham, Virasonh, and Whetstine NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
