This event allowed The Chief of Police, Command Staff, and the Westminster Police Officer's Association to formally recognize members from the department for their courageous and exemplary service to the community during the year 2022. The recipients are selected from a committee of their peers, who follow a rigorous policy regarding the criteria for selecting these awards. The committee reviewed Body Worn Camera ( BWC) footage and police reports when making their selections. These recipients all demonstrated a high degree of dedication and professionalism.

In total, 68 awards were given out to both sworn and professional staff members. These awards ranged from Community Service, Life Saving, Above and Beyond, Chief' s Award, Top Shot, MADD Award, 10851, Police Unit Citation and Medal of Merit Award winners.

In addition, the Police Department also recognized those who received Supervisor, Officer, Part- Time Employee, Professional Staff, Volunteer, Rookie, and the Ron Weber Sr. Investigator of the Year awards for 2022.

It is no secret that the past year has been challenging, with the rising trend in mental health and homelessness calls for service, and the rise in violent crime across the nation.

Yet, despite these challenges going on across the nation, the men and women of the Westminster Police Department, both sworn and professional staff, continue to rise to the occasion to protect and serve our community every day.
