PLANNING COMMISSION

The City Council of the City of Westmorland met in City Hall Council Chambers on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 5:30 PM. Councilman Ray Gutierrez, called the meeting in order at 5:30 PM and led the invocation.
Present at time of Roll Call: Councilwoman Justina Cruz, and Councilwoman Judy Rivera. − Absent 2: Mayor Xavier Mendez, Mayor Pro - Tem Ana Beltran & City Attorney Mitch Driskill
Council, Staff & Consultants - Discussion/Action:
• Discussion/Action: RESOULTION 22-21 CDBG GRANT. Mrs. Nava gives a brief review from the last meeting. Mrs. Rivera suggest that the grant should be 20/20 part for Fire Department and Youth Hall. Mrs. Nava states that the council to give authorization on the slight adjustment. Mrs. Rivera motions the Resolution 22-21 to be $10,00 for Swear and Water improvements, $20,000 for Youth Hall/ Senior Department and $20,000 for the Fire Department improvements. Second by Mrs. Cruz. 3-0 approval. • Discussion/Action: RESOULTION 22-22 POOL CHILLER. Mrs. Nava gives a brief review from previous meeting; Mrs. Nava mentions to council that this grant can be a big help to repairs or equipment to the pool. Council continues to talk about that the grant can be used for the chiller as well as equipment. Mrs. Rivera motions for the grant in total of $20,000 for the Pool Chiller and equipment, second by Mrs. Cruz.
Closed Session:
• Discussion of Wages for Police Department Personnel – Police Chief. (Gov.t Code §54957(b)(1).) Public Employee Compensation (Government Code 54957.6) Council adjourned for Closed Session at 5:34PM adjourned back into regular meeting at 5:50PM. Police wages to start august 1st to new pay rate. Motion by Mrs. Cruz second by Mrs.
Rivera.
